Rubber Biscuit

Remember the Rubber Biscuit song that Dan Ackroyd and John Belushi performed in the Blues Brothers movie? Who knew that the hard to understand, seemingly nonsensical song had real lyrics!?

The Chips – Rubber Biscuit

written by Nathaniel Epps, Charles Johnson, Shedrick Lincoln, Samuel Strain Jr., Paul Fulton

Cow cow hoo-oo
cow cow wanna dib-a-doo
chick’n hon-a-chick-a-chick hole-a-hubba
hell fried chuck-a-lucka wanna jubba
hi-low ‘n-ay wanna dubba hubba

mm-mh, did you ever hear
of a wish sandwich
well that’s the kind of a sandwich
that is supposed to take
two pieces of bread
and wish you had some meat

  1. you forgot the line in rubber biscuit,

“last night i had a cold water sandwich
and on sunday had an eaten bun”

i’m not certain those are the exact lyrics you
    missed, but i’m close.

p.s, do not add me to any email lists.

  2. Here are the complete lyrics:

  3. How in the world do I get the music, song of rubber buscuit?
I have been looking for it for a long time with no luck at all.
This is the song I heard once and couldn’t find it any where.
Let me know how I can get it.
    Thanks, Thomas

  4. Still looking? It’s on volume 2 of Rhino Record’s four cd collection “The Doo Wop Box Volume II”. The original.

  5. if I am not mistaking:

    After sunday-go meeting bun comes:

“which means I took that lady to church. meat ball ball ball.

  6. “The other day,
    I had a cool-ly water sandwich
    and a sunday-go-to-meetin’ bun…”

I’ve been looking for a freebee download of this Chips classic. Any leads for obscurities like these?

Also, in the original version, I seem to remember something like, “woody woody pecker pecker” in one of the rapid fire lines.

  7. I think I also remember these “words”:

cow cow sun day da jigga wah

fall out da mouth chigga lubba hubba

    Sound familiar?

Who coulda known somebody would actually be wanting to know these goofy lyrics after all this time? Guess once they get in your brain, they stay there!!
