Thanks to Freedom of Thought: June 10, 2003 Archives. The sign says: “one weekend a month my ass!”, which is the nominal duty requirement for US National Guard troops. In support of recent activities, they’ve been called to active duty not for a weekend a month, but rather for months at a time.
Some real details (gps used, program used, etc.) about how this was accomplished would be interesting, but it’s a neat photo nonetheless. If it wasn’t done as described in the caption, then I guess this might qualify as one of the world’s most detailed crop circles.
As good as google is, searching for a specific blog post amongst the millions of pages indexed by their service often results in not finding what one is looking for.
