Where Does the Time Go?

It’s hard to believe, but 25 years ago today I began working at 1501 Page Mill Rd. I started as an electronic repair technician for HP’s Stanford Park R & D lab and currently work with a team that provides web services, both for and in cooperation with, the researchers of HP Labs. Today was the culmination of a major project, and though I wouldn’t exactly call migrating a bunch of servers and apps a celebration, it did provide a good way to remember this day.

I’ve been accused of loving my job; it’s often true. I mostly get to do things that interest and challenge me, with occasional days when I’m reminded why it’s called work. The longer I live the more I appreciate the many opportunities I’ve had to learn and love and grow.

The best part is the people I work with. I can’t imagine having worked with a better bunch of folks over the years. Brilliant, funny, opinionated, and highly professional, the list goes on and on. I couldn’t have made it so far without this world-class gang at my side.

So a big thank you to all my colleagues over the years, and a special thank you to my family for supporting my somewhat workaholic approach to life. It’s been, and continues to be, simply grand!

Well, the first days are the hardest days,
don’t you worry anymore

Wo-oah, what I want to know,

where does the time go?
