Photos from the North Rim of the Grand Canyon

File this under better late than never.

Last July, the day after we visited Zion National Park, we made our way to the north rim of the Grand Canyon. Though clouded a bit by smoke from a distant fire, the views were still spectacular. Below is a small sampling of photos taken at the Grand Canyon, as well as one taken on the way, and finishing with one of the Colorado River Bridge. More photos from the north rim of the Grand Canyon are available at our Flickr site.

  1. Your photos are magnificent! Have visited the G.C. many times, enjoyed the views in various types weather. Years ago we were to take a mule trip to the bottom, but the night before a sudden rain storm washed out part of the trail so could only go half way down.

Can ‘hear’ in your photos the music of “The Grand Canyon Suite” which conjured images of the G.C. before I ever visited there; continues to do so. Just wish years ago I had been able to visit there when the composer had his Suite performed with full orchestra, live at The Canyon.
