Misc HDR Images

Here are few high dynamic range (HDR) images I created earlier today. HDR images display an extended dynamic range and are often created by taking multiple, bracketed, exposures of a subject and then merging them to create the final HDR image. HDR images look different from standard images in ways ranging from the sublime to the surreal.

It was windy today, and the outdoor photos of the airplane plant exhibit some “whispiness” as a result of movement caused by the wind. I think it adds to the overall mood of the images, making them a bit more “artsy.”

These are my first attempt at creating HDR images and like most novices, I’ve gone for the bright, exaggerated, look. If you want to see HDR images by a true master, check out the photos by Stuck in Customs.

If you want to learn more about HDR imaging, here’s a great place to start! The software I used to process the HDR images is known as Photomatix.

There are a few more of my HDR images at Flickr.
