(Formerly) Kanopolis Lake, 2012 Edition

While it seems that Kansas is in a drought more often than not, the fact is the Horsethief Canyon area of Kanopolis Lake has reverted to prairie, the same as it did in 2006, as reported on this very site in April and June of that year. By November 2007 sufficient rain had fallen to bring the water levels back to normal.

The photos below were taken in early August 2012,  and if anything, things look to be a bit more dry than they did six years ago. There are more related images on my Flickr site, including a large version of the panorama seen below.
