I’ve joined the ranks of the podcasters, those who create multi-media content, typically voice, but more frequently including video, that is differentiated by its distribution method; podcasts are distributed via RSS. The podcast I created, when viewed from the web page hosting it, is simply a link to an mp3 file. Not a podcast.
However, after I modified the template that controls my RSS feed, then the article, when viewed in an RSS aggregator, is considered a podcast. Podcasts may be easily downloaded to programs such as iTunes and from there to an iPod or similar device.
My first podcast is a reading of a weekly bit I do on local radio station KSAL. You can listen to the Lindsborg Update podcast at my Lindsborg focused website, Little Sweden, USA.
