Glorious Skies for Daniel

Some of us met up at Coronado Heights for an informal celebration of our brother, father, uncle and friend, Daniel.

The Kansas skies cooperated with a very nice show, ranging from rain, lightning, magnificent clouds and a nice sunset.

Tears were shed, smiles were shared and laughter was heard. It was as Daniel would have wanted and expected.

And while at a certain age one accepts the inevitable as it applies to older relatives, no one is prepared for the loss of a sibling, or of any person younger than one’s age. And true also that for the first time since 1966 us kids are no longer all here, the thought of which only compounds the loss. But no tears of regret. We 6 (later 7) always tried to get together whenever we could, and often succeeded at Thanksgiving and at May Day (All School’s Day) at mom/Steven’s in McPherson. For those memories we’re all grateful.
